Free tools: common questions
Yes. Every tool on this page is free to use, with no account and no payment. We built them because they answer the questions small businesses ask us most often, and because they are a useful way for people to see how we think before they ever speak to us.
For most of them, no. The phishing test, DMARC checker, Cyber Essentials checklist, GDPR health check, continuity plan template, switch-off checker and upload calculator all show your result on screen without asking for any contact details. The IT security review emails you a PDF report and the business IT benchmark gives you a personalised score, so both ask for your contact details. The cost calculator can email you your estimate if you want a copy.
It depends on the tool, and each page explains it. The GDPR health check, continuity plan template and phishing test work in your own browser and send nothing to us. The DMARC checker looks up your domain’s public DNS records through Google and Cloudflare, and nothing you enter is sent to us or stored by us. Where a tool does ask for contact details, they are used to send you your result and, if you ask, to follow up.
UK small and medium-sized businesses and charities, typically with somewhere between a handful and a couple of hundred staff. You do not need to be an ATS client, and you do not need to be in Sussex.
