A proactive IT partner for modern education environments

The modern school, academy or trust runs on technology that quietly supports safeguarding, teaching and operational continuity every day. We partner with senior leadership, business managers and IT leads to build environments that are stable, secure and well-governed, not constantly firefighting.

Our role is consultative and long-term: hardened Microsoft 365 for Education, calm classroom technology, resilient WiFi, managed devices and a support model that flexes around the school day rather than against it.

Operational reliability

Classroom technology, WiFi and core systems engineered to behave consistently, lesson after lesson, term after term.

Safeguarding-aware support

All change, access and device policy decisions are made through a safeguarding lens, not a generic IT one.

Strategic, long-term partnership

Termly reviews with senior leadership, multi-year infrastructure roadmaps and budget guidance aligned to your DfE funding cycle.

Where IT quietly impacts safeguarding, teaching and operational continuity

Schools and trusts rarely need cheaper IT. They need a partner that removes the operational drag: unreliable WiFi, ageing devices, ungoverned Microsoft 365 tenants and reactive support that only shows up when something has already broken.

Practical IT support for education isn’t about adding complexity. It’s about creating stable, secure and well-managed environments that support both teaching and safeguarding.

Safeguarding & access control

Filtering gaps, shared sign-ins and weak access policies that quietly create safeguarding risk.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace governance

Default tenants leaking data via over-shared Teams, legacy auth and unmanaged guest access.

WiFi reliability

Classroom dead-spots, peak-time congestion and ageing access points that disrupt teaching.

Phishing & ransomware

Education is now a prime target, and inboxes, finance and SLT accounts need proper defence.

Backup & recovery uncertainty

Backups assumed but rarely tested: Microsoft 365 and on-prem recovery is often unproven.

A complete managed service for your education environment, under one accountable partner

One structured monthly service designed to keep teaching staff, operational teams and students connected, productive and protected. Support is a fixed monthly price from £30 per user plus VAT, and our IT support pricing is published in full. We give the same support to nurseries and charities. Our guide to school IT support and the DfE digital and technology standards covers the standards in more detail.

Unlimited UK helpdesk

Senior engineers covering remote and on-site support for teaching staff, business teams and SLT, built around the school day.

Microsoft 365 Administration

Safeguarding & access management

Filtering, conditional access, identity policies and reviewable audit trails aligned to KCSIE expectations.

24/7 environment monitoring

Servers, classroom networks, endpoints and Microsoft 365 health watched continuously by our operations team.

Managed endpoint security

EDR / MDR across staff laptops, classroom devices and servers, with active threat hunting and response.

Backup & recovery

Independent backup of Microsoft 365 and on-prem systems with rehearsed restores, beyond Microsoft’s native retention.

Device management

Intune-based provisioning, encryption, policy enforcement and a clear lifecycle plan across the device estate.

WiFi & connectivity

Site-wide WiFi design, classroom coverage planning, dedicated education connectivity and resilient links.

Cyber security operations

MFA, Conditional Access, phishing defence, DLP and Cyber Essentials alignment as a continuous service.

Endpoint protection that works alongside a school’s own IT team

Brighton College is one of England’s leading independent schools, with hundreds of pupils using computers and plugging in USB drives and portable storage every day. Its previous antivirus was complex, used too much memory and kept the network manager busy with workarounds.

FAQ

IT & cyber questions schools and trusts ask us most

Modern schools need more than a helpdesk. They need a managed partner who governs Microsoft 365 for Education, supports safeguarding through filtering and identity policies, runs layered cyber security, maintains tested backups, supports classroom technology and WiFi, and provides senior strategic input to SLT and business managers. Reactive break-fix support is no longer enough: Ofsted, KCSIE and DfE cyber expectations all assume a proactive, documented operating model behind your IT.

Yes. We deliver full Microsoft 365 for Education administration, including tenant governance, identity and Conditional Access, Teams for Education, SharePoint structure, OneDrive, Exchange, licensing and independent backup. We harden tenants against the most common education risks: legacy authentication, oversharing, weak guest controls and unmanaged staff or student accounts.

Yes. We support single academies, federations and growing Multi-Academy Trusts across the UK. Our operating model is well-suited to trust environments that need consistent device baselines, standardised Microsoft 365 governance, cross-site visibility and trust-level reporting to executive leadership and trustees.

Start with the controls that most reduce risk: enforce MFA on every staff and admin account, deploy managed EDR on devices, lock down Microsoft 365 with Conditional Access and modern authentication, run independent backups of your tenant, and align the environment with Cyber Essentials and DfE cyber security standards. Layer in staff awareness, a documented incident response plan and termly reviews of identity and tenant risk. ATS delivers all of this within a single managed service.

Yes. We manage staff laptops, classroom devices, shared device trolleys and shared workstations through Intune-based provisioning, encryption, policy enforcement and a planned lifecycle. The goal is a calm, consistent experience for teaching staff and students, not constant rebuilding and reactive fixes.

Yes. We design, deploy and support site-wide WiFi and network infrastructure for schools and trusts, including classroom coverage planning, capacity for peak teaching periods, resilient internet connectivity, network segmentation and continuous monitoring of WiFi and core network health.

Yes. We engineer environments for consistent hybrid learning, secure remote access, Intune-managed devices, Teams for Education, OneDrive and SharePoint structures that work the same way whether staff and students are on site, at home or moving between sites.

Our average response time is under 15 minutes across all support channels. 98% of issues are resolved on first contact by our UK-based engineers. Critical, teaching-impacting incidents, including suspected breaches or major outages, are escalated immediately under documented major-incident procedures.

Core support is £30 to £48 per user per month, and Complete IT and security is £55 to £90 per user per month, both on a rolling annual agreement. Ad hoc work is £100 an hour, £340 a half day or £650 a day. All prices exclude VAT, and the exact figure depends on your staff numbers, number of sites and the level of security you need. The full breakdown is on our IT support pricing page.

Our helpdesk is open from 9am to 5.30pm on working days, and urgent out-of-hours support is available when you need it. Monitoring runs around the clock.

Yes. The DfE says all schools and colleges should be working towards meeting its six core digital and technology standards by 2030. Its cyber security standard says MFA must be enabled for staff accounts with access to cloud services or remote access, and for IT administrative accounts, and that IT support must complete vulnerability fixes within 14 days of the fix being released. It also points schools to the NCSC advice of 3 copies of your data, 2 on separate devices and 1 offsite. We put those controls in place, keep them running, and give your business manager and governors a clear view of where you stand.

To be eligible for cyber cover under the DfE Risk Protection Arrangement, a school must have offline backups, complete NCSC cyber security training, register with Police CyberAlarm and have a cyber response plan. We handle the IT side: offline and offsite backups that are tested, and a cyber response plan that matches how your systems are actually set up.

In the Government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025/2026, 73% of secondary schools and 49% of primary schools had identified a cyber security breach or attack in the last 12 months. That is why we start with MFA, patching, email filtering and backups you can restore.

Yes. Many schools have a network manager or technician on site, and we can take on the parts they do not have time for, such as cyber security, backups or Microsoft 365, rather than replacing them. At Brighton College, for example, we provided endpoint protection that the school’s own network manager runs day to day.

Yes, in the way that matters day to day: the PCs, laptops, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, WiFi, network and backups that your MIS and other school systems depend on. For problems inside the application itself, we work directly with your software supplier, so your office team is not left chasing two companies.
