Supporting UK businesses

Get the foundations right
before you hire

With two people and a handful of accounts, doing IT properly is a small job. With twenty people, a mix of personal laptops, shared passwords and email on a free account, it becomes a migration project. Setting up business email, device management and security at the start costs less than fixing them later, and it means every new starter is ready to work on day one.

Small businesses are targets too. In the government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025/2026, 42% of micro businesses reported a cyber breach or attack in the previous 12 months. The NCSC’s free Cyber Action Toolkit is a good place to start, and we put the same basics in place for you and keep them there.

  • Email on your own domain
  • Laptops managed from day one
  • Security built in, not bolted on
  • A price that scales per user

The shortcuts that cost startups later

None of these feel urgent in the first month. They become expensive when you hire, win a client that asks about security, or someone leaves with the only admin password.

Business email on free accounts

Leavers who keep access

Personal laptops holding company data

No multi-factor authentication

One shared admin password

Windows Home on business laptops

No backup of Microsoft 365

Files scattered across personal accounts

Everything a new business needs, from one supplier

We set up the essentials properly once, then support and grow them with you, so you are not rebuilding everything at ten or twenty people.

Businesses we have
helped grow

Callatech Precision Engineering was growing fast and its IT could not keep up, so we moved it to the cloud, refreshed its hardware and put proactive support in place. Mud Foods, a fast-growing Sussex food manufacturer, got upgraded hardware, better data storage and backup, and stronger security.

FAQ

IT support for startups: common
questions

Our Core support is £30 to £48 per user per month, and Complete IT and security, which adds backup and managed security, is £55 to £90. Microsoft and software licences are billed separately at cost, and there is a one-off onboarding fee, typically £500 to £2,000. Very small teams are quoted individually.

Not always on day one. Many founders manage their own Microsoft 365 at first. The time to bring in help is before your first hires, when a client asks about security, or when nobody has time to look after laptops, accounts and backups properly.

Business Basic (£5.40 per user per month) gives email, Teams and web apps. Business Standard (£10.80) adds the desktop Office apps. Business Premium (£16.90) adds Intune device management, Defender for Business and Conditional Access, which is what we recommend once you hold client data. Prices are UK list prices excluding VAT, paid yearly. A monthly subscription with no annual commitment costs 20% more.

Pro. Microsoft says Home editions cannot be Microsoft Entra joined, which means they cannot be managed and secured centrally in the same way as Pro. The saving on a Home laptop rarely survives the first security question from a client.

It is required for central government contracts that involve personal data or certain IT services, and many larger clients and insurers now ask for it. The certification fee for up to 9 employees is £320 plus VAT, and our supported certification is £510 plus VAT.

Most organisations that use personal information, including sole traders, must pay the ICO data protection fee unless they are exempt. For micro organisations, with a turnover up to £632,000 or no more than 10 staff, it is £52 a year, with £5 off by direct debit.

Yes. Support is billed per user on a rolling annual agreement, so you add people as you hire, and setting up new starters and removing leavers is included in every package.

Our offices are in Arundel and Chichester and our engineers work on site across Sussex. We also support new businesses elsewhere in the UK remotely.
